Every day, thousands of listeners turn on their radios to stay informed, pray, or simply stay connected to the world. Behind this precious connection lies a technical requirement that is often invisible: service continuity. Without electricity, the signal cuts out and with it, the social connection that is so important to the community.
Located in Kisangani, Radio Maria’s relay station faced this challenge on a daily basis. Between unexpected power outages and reliance on a generator, ensuring seamless broadcasts had become a daily struggle.
How, in this context of unpredictable power supply, could Radio Maria guarantee to thousands of people that information would always be available?
To ensure the continuity of its programming and reduce its reliance on alternative energy sources, Radio Maria turned to GoShop Energy to design and deploy an oversized hybrid solution rated at 10 KVA, 14.88 kWp, and 15 kWh, tailored to the relay station’s specific needs.
To ensure complete resilience, we opted for a high-performance hybrid architecture designed for reliability:
24 solar panels, each rated at 620 W, meet the relay antenna’s power needs while charging the batteries during the day,
3 BYD LV FLEX batteries, each with a capacity of 5 kWh, guaranteeing power availability when the electrical grid is unavailable,
2 Multiplus II inverters, each rated at 5 KVA and configured in parallel (for a total of 10 KVA), ensure a stable power supply and protect sensitive equipment,
3 Victron 250/100 MPPT controllers optimize solar production based on sunlight levels to achieve the best possible efficiency.
Beyond the installed capacity, this system has provided the station with true peace of mind.

Ensure an uninterrupted power supply even when the utility grid is unavailable,
